I had a fantastic time at the first Overland Expo I went to back in 2019 and I felt it was time to go again. The main reason for this trip is I really wanted to get some good pictures of the R1250 GS in some interesting places, secondarily I wanted to sync up with old friends.

The trip went straight west with as many “old west” themed things as possible with the target being Oakly KS.
I stayed at the “Anne Oakly Hotel” and had dinner at “Buffalo Bills Bar and Grill”. The idea was to get to Oakly as soon as possible in order to try to get out to Monument Rocks and attempt to get some pictures. When I got there the sun was very sharp and tossing shadows all over the place. I got to the hotel that night and thought none of the pictures would be any good and I thought I would have to re-shoot everything in the morning. However, I think the huge shadows and hard sun helped push the details into the picture – but what do I know.

What you think I put too many videos of my bike on the page.. your right – lets follow that up with pictures.

If you have a drone – make full use of it and get an uncommon shot.

OK so Overland Expo West Stuf. It was good. however, it was hot and dry, and I should have taken a larger water bottle.

Overland Expo was great, and it was good to see all the bike stuff – presenters like Sam Manicom and Peter Sweetser are always top notch! However, I started looking at the Off Grid Trailer company and specifically the PANDO 2.0 and this trip may have cost me more than I expected because I ordered a new PANDO 2.0.. but more on that later.
